Art Director (Parental Leave Cover)
Björk and Berries is seeking a visionary, hands-on Art Director to join us for a parental leave cover. This is a key creative role where you’ll help shape the visual storytelling of a growing Swedish fragrance house across campaigns, digital platforms, and physical touchpoints. You will lead the creative process from idea to execution—while also being a strong visual communicator, confident behind both the camera and the concept.
Your role
As our Art Director, you’ll be responsible for conceptualising, producing, and executing content and campaigns across e-commerce, social media, and marketing channels. You’ll share creative ownership of our e-commerce experience with the E-commerce Manager and work closely with the CMO, PR, and Graphic Designer to ensure visual coherence across all brand expressions.
This role requires hands-on content creation—you are comfortable both photographing and filming content in-house (e.g. still life, behind-the-scenes, campaign assets, social content), and editing it for use across platforms.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for understanding the goals of our clients and be able to oversee project strategy to project completion. By having a knowledge of emerging technologies in the area, this candidate will be able create cross-channel deliverables to clients that meet their needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop creative concepts for campaigns, brand activations, and seasonal storytelling
- Create mockups and pitch decks to communicate ideas
- Photograph and film in-house content, including product shots, campaign stills, behind-the-scenes, and short-form video (Reels, Stories, TikTok)
- Edit and retouch content for web, social, CRM, and ads
- Plan and direct shoots with external production partners when needed
- Design visuals for newsletters, e-commerce, social media, and digital advertising
- Maintain and evolve the visual identity together with the creative team
- Manage budgets, timelines, and production resources
- Review and give feedback on creative assets to ensure brand alignment and high quality
- Stay curious and up-to-date on industry/design trends, culture, best practices and emerging technologies.
Who you are
You're visually sharp, conceptually strong, and comfortable moving between strategy and execution. You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, but also take initiative and ownership over your creative output. You love storytelling, care about craft—and aren’t afraid to experiment with new tools, channels, or formats.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in visual communications
- Minimum 3 years' of digital and print design or advertising experience
- Skilled in photography and basic video production, with in-house content experience
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro or After Effects)
- Working knowledge of Figma, Shopify, Klaviyo, Meta Ads Manager, Canva
- Familiar with or curious about 3D tools such as Blender or Cinema 4D
- Solid understanding of typography, layout, and color
- Strong communicator with excellent attention to detail
- Fluent in English (Swedish is a plus)
- Experience in fragrance, fashion, beauty, or lifestyle is a bonus
- Willingness to travel occasionally for production
- Knowledge of social platforms
- Breadth of style and design capability
